This rare Longmorn single cask from the Pavilion Collection reveals a palate of candied lemon, ripe peaches, and vanilla, layered with soft oak and gentle spice, leading to a creamy finish of buttery malt and warming wood spice. Bottled at natural cask strength, this elegant Speyside whisky showcases Longmorn’s signature fruitiness and the refined influence of bourbon cask maturation.

A GENTLE TOUCH OF SPICE

REGION

SPEYSIDE

Appearance: A natural straw or Chardonnay hue, with fine, parallel legs slowly streaming down the glass.

Nose: Sweet aromas of candied lemon and vanilla are lifted by orchard fruits—ripe peach and apple—layered with light oak, and a gentle touch of spice.

Medium to full-bodied, with floral and fruity notes intertwined. More candied lemon and orange emerge, enriched by pronounced vanilla from first-fill bourbon casks. A refined medley of stone fruits—peach and apple—brings a buttery texture, balanced by subtle malt and soft oak with hints of wood spice.

Finish: Creamy vanilla gently gives way to warming wood spice, offering a light, elegant close.

LONGMORN DISTILLERY

Longmorn is a historic Speyside distillery located near Elgin, founded in 1893 by John Duff, Charles Shirres, and George Thomson. Duff, who also founded Glenlossie, had managed Glendronach and Bon Accord distilleries. Production began in December 1894. Though impacted by the 1898 collapse of Pattison, Elder & Co., Longmorn continued under James Grant, supplying spirit primarily for blends. Using water from the Burnside spring, Moray barley, and peat from Mannoch Hill, Longmorn retains strong local character. The distillery features an 8-tonne mash tun, traditional wooden washbacks, and eight copper stills. While some whisky is matured on site, most casks age in bonded warehouses at Keith and Mulben. Known for its rich, fruity, and well-balanced style, Longmorn is now part of Pernod Ricard and remains a respected name in both blends and single malts.
